Life's never been sweeter.

Last night, on the way home, we passed by Obet's Lechon Manok. A teenage boy was watching over the roasting chickens.

"Nandiyan si Obet?" I asked jokingly.

To my surprise, he said "Nandito" and went inside to fetch Obet.

When Obet finally appeared, we started laughing hysterically inside the car. We didn't know there was actually an Obet. I was just joking but the boy took me seriously.

"Anong kailangan niyo?" Obet asked.

For about a minute, I couldn't answer him straight because I couldn't stop laughing. It didn't help that Jerrold was laughing hysterically beside me. I finally managed to mutter "liempo" and point towards the roasted slab of meat in between fits of laughter. Then, Obet started laughing too as he realized that we really just wanted to buy liempo from "Obet".

I think he must have enjoyed that brief episode because he sent a brownie to go with our order.  (Aww...Thanks Obet.)

When we drove off, Jerrold paused for a moment, beamed at me and said "That's MY girlfriend."

Petty as it may seem, that really meant a lot to me.  That was just one of my occasional odd moments but instead of repelling him, they draw him to me like a grizzly to honey.

I'm really glad this guy's in love with me not because I'm normal but because I AM. Weirdness and all. No pretenses.

Currently feeling: lucky
